Department of Computer Technology is located in the MIT Campus, Anna University and functioning under the Faculty of Information and Communication Engineering. This Department is offering Under Graduate programme B.E. Computer Science and Engineering, Post Graduate programme M.E. Computer Science and Engineering and Doctoral programme Ph.D. The department is committed to the preparation of graduates to address the great challenges in the field of Information Technology and to contribute for research and innovation that ensure the sustained growth in Computing. Since 2018, this department follows UG Curriculum, based on Centrally Sponsored Scheme known as Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA). The courses are designed to combine rigorous academic study and exhaustive practical exposure for students with in-depth lab oriented courses, projects, and internships. Students can have their degree with Honors by doing additional courses of their choices from critical domains. The faculty members adopt digital pedagogy to attain the best quality of education.

Department of Computer Technology is established with state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities and a professional teaching fraternity for imparting quality education towards developing globally renowned professionals. The curriculum supporting Outcome Based Education framed to meet industrial needs helps students develop professional skills to bridge the academia-industry gap. Students are regularly monitored and mentored by an experienced team of faculty advisors. The department has established research laboratories in advanced domains of computing for promoting research activities. Big data analytics examines different analytic techniques against very large, diverse data sets that include structured, semi-structured and unstructured data, from different sources, and in different sizes from terabytes to zettabytes.

Internet of Things

The Internet of Things is a dynamic global network infrastructure consisting of uniquely identifiable physical and virtual things with self-configuring capabilities. The thinks may refer to items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity. Researches are currently focusing on providing support for IoT Architecture, Identification, Communications, Network Technology, Network Discovery, Security and Software solutions.

Quantum Computing

Researchers in the field of Quantum computing are involved in building universal quantum computers for business, engineering and science. This is based on the principles of using quantum phenomena in computing, communication, sensing and metrology to go beyond the capabilities of conventional computing systems.

Events

Prayatna is an annual national level inter-college technical event conducted by the Association of Computer Technologists. Trigger is an intra college event in which 500+ students from different departments of the institute participate. ICoAC is an annual international conference organized by the Department of Computer Technology every year in the month of December.
